Taronga Wild! Rhinos is a Wild in Art event that will bring businesses, artists and schools together to create a spectacular world-class sculpture trail from the Sydney Harbour foreshore through the Blue Mountains to Dubbo and the Central West region of NSW. From February – April 2014 a huge herd of wildly colourful rhino sculptures painted by artists and their small calves decorated by local schools will charge into town as part of a mass public art exhibition to help raise awareness and valuable funds for Taronga’s world leading Black Rhino breeding program and in-situ conservation projects.

Let your creativity run wild.

Whether you are a professional artist or an enthusiastic amateur, Taronga invites you to submit your Wild! Rhino design. Whatever the art form – from fine art to graffiti, new media to mosaic, embroidery to metalwork – we’re keen to add drama, colour and fun to the Taronga Wild! Rhinos sculpture trail. If selected, your design will feature on a spectacular and wildly colourful sculpture trail through the streets, parks and public spaces of Sydney, Dubbo and their surrounds. You will also receive an honorarium of $1,000 and acknowledgement as the artist on the sculpture base, event website and event collateral where appropriate. At the end of the event the life-sized rhino sculptures will go under the hammer at a charity auction to raise critical funding for Taronga’s rhino conservation programs. Click here to learn more about the escalating threats facing the world’s rhino population.

Be a part of a spectacular community art exhibition and help create a lasting legacy. Submit your design today.
