For the ninth year running, Leichhardt Council are holding their annual Wall2Wall Competition. A site-specific mural competition where artists are given the challenge of designing a mural to be painted on one of three selected sites in the Leichhardt area. Not just do the three winning designs get to complete their proposed murals with all costs of materials covered, each artist will take home a minimum of $1000 as a cash prize.
Upon completion of the murals, each will be ranked by a board of judges, with the winner taking home a huge $4000, 2nd place taking home $2000 and 3rd place taking home $1000.
For your chance to take out one of these prolific walls and a huge cash prize, head over to the Leichhardt Council website
and download an application form. Remember, the key to having your design selected is to make your work site-specific. The winners in past years have always included an element of relevance to the location, be it related to the local flora and fauna, historic uses of the site or one of many other factors. You might remember that the mighty Peque
took out last year's Wall2Wall competition with his long mural featuring some of Australia's native birds. Peque does it again!
